MY DESSERT RECIPES
01/01/2011

(Originally published in "Blueberry Peaches, Red Robin Pie")

I think that this, of all the chapters in this book, is the chapter that I enjoyed writing the most. The dishes here are, as with the others, easy to fix. But beyond that, they are all wonderfully delicious.

Paul agrees with me on this. He has tried them all out at one time or another (sometimes, for example the pound cake and ice cream recipes, many, many, many times) and has suggested that I preface the chapter with the following advice:

Warning! All of the following recipes are delicious. Some are so delicious as to be addictive and must be eaten with a reasonable degree of caution. Please don't serve this to your husband, children or close friends without giving them these same words of caution.

But now that I have said that, don 't let it put you off. Go ahead and pick and choose among these recipes and indulge yourself. Life on all too rare occasions has some exceptional high points and when we find ourselves present among these high points we should stay and enjoy them. I think that some of these desserts can easily make you reach those high points.

So, be my guest, stay and enjoy, and, as I've said before,

Bon Appetit!
